A “shout-out” to all you hockey moms, Joe the plumbers…
and the rest of you that share this little blue planet with us! We have been informed that our blogging (actually, our lack of blogging)  has become troublesome to some whose happiness is dependent upon knowing the happenings here at The Motor Lodge. That being said we will re-commit to Web Logging (that is where the term “blog” comes from…comfy beds and interesting facts here at TML!)Â
We had a great summer and met wonderful people from around the world. Given the political buzz that has permiated the airwaves the past several months, It has been interesting to listen to the opinions from people around the world.  We have hosted guests from,  among others,  Brazil, Australia, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Puerto Rico, England, Germany, Poland, Italy, New Zealand, Holland, Mexico and Canada. It is amazing to hear of the knowledge that they have of the United States and our political system when we, on average, know so little of theirs. I asked a family from England how they came to know so much about our current events and they said, “Everything you do affects the rest of us. Our survival is dependent upon us knowing what you are up to!”. That was a one of those “light bulb moments” when one thinks, “Wow, we are fortunate to live where we do!”.  Of course, not far behind that light bulb moment came another, “What a  responsibility!”.  We have high hopes that our leaders, new and old, will consider the interests of all of us!  God bless The Motor Lodge and Prescott and Arizona and the United States and North America and the Western Hemisphere and this whole wacky world!
And so i’ve got to tell you, you betcha, Sara and John stopped for a few hours  in our fair hamlet last August on their way from Sedona to Phoenix. Had they stopped at The Motor Lodge we would for sure have offered them some real american wine or beer or maybe just some fresh homemade cookies. But, seriously, you know, it really is simple here in Prescott. People just want to feel welcome when they arrive and have a sense of belonging to this community, if just for a short time. We feel like Prescott is one of the most interesting small towns in Arizona.Â
We have done a lot of work to this 100 year old place in the short time that we’ve owned it. We finally have painted all of the buildings, replaced much of the plumbing, electrical ,and fixtures. It still has a great amount of the original character from the past and the comforts of today that will make you happy.Â
We have big plans for the future and hope to see many of you again. We are very excited and happy to be here and hope you all feel the same way when you leave and are traveling down the road to your next adventure. We are also very grateful to those of you that took the time to write a review on several of the travel sights. it means so much to us and is one of our greatest resources for getting more folks here in the future.Â
Cheers to everyone that is making The Motor Lodge a succesful dream come true for us!
Â
Sincerely,
Joe Livingston and Brian Spear
